A convention is dangerous and puts our constitutional rights in jeopardy. There is no precedent for how a convention will run, and the entire Constitution could be changed. Dismantling the Constitution will cause chaos and confusion – not solve the national debt or decrease the federal government’s power.
Idaho could be underrepresented. Idaho could be pushed out of the conversation completely by more populous states. States like California and New York would decide the future of our country.
A “Convention of States” and a “Convention of Amendments” are NOT safer alternatives to a Constitutional convention. They are all the same thing! Current movements using these terms are intentionally misleading Idaho’s lawmakers and citizens.
